Work At Height Essentials Training

This course won’t teach you everything you need to know – you’d need longer than half a day for that! – but we promise you’ll go home with a clear understanding of your responsibilities and an action plan for what you need to do next.

Course Syllabus
Course Title: Work At Height Training (Essentials)
Duration: ½ Day course, lasting a minimum of 3½ hours.
Who Will Benefit From This Course: Anyone who is involved in work at height, particularly those who are new to working at height.
Learning Objectives: To enable an individual to effectively comply with their duties under the Work at Height Regulations.
Method: Instruction by theory session with exercise.
Assessment: Closed book course with a pass mark of 80%.
Personal Protective Equipment: None required.
Course Content: Current Legislation, Regulations and Guidance affecting work at height.
Instructor Delegate Ratio: Maximum of 1:12.
Venue Requirements: A suitable classroom to accommodate 12 delegates for the theory and assessment sessions.
Supporting Documents: A course content and notes booklet and a current Code of Practice booklet will be issued to all delegates who attend the course.
Awards: A PASMA certificate and PhotoCard will be issued to successful delegates who complete the theory and assessment sessions at the level they attend the course which has a five year validity period.
Literacy, Fitness & Health Statement (Extract from the PASMA Code of Practice): Since the safe use of access equipment requires that you consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacture’s instruction manual, literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any user of access equipment.
Similarly, since the assembly and use of access equipment can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight,hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights /vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limb function,alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.
If delegates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any doubts about their fitness to use any access equipment, they must bring them to the attention of their employer. This need not preclude them from using access equipment, provided their employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties they may have.
Qualifications & Experience: No qualifications or experience are required for this course.
